West Midlands Trains (WMT) is a prominent train operating company in the United Kingdom, serving the West Midlands region and beyond. Established in December 2017, WMT took over the franchise previously held by London Midland. It is a joint venture between Abellio, the Japanese conglomerate Mitsui, and the East Japan Railway Company. WMT operates under two distinct brands: West Midlands Railway, which covers local and regional services within the West Midlands area, and London Northwestern Railway, which provides longer-distance services, including routes between London Euston and cities like Birmingham and Liverpool.
